Chardonnay

Alexander Valley 2012 Chardonnay with a backbone

Description

From the banks of the Russian River in Alexander Valley comes one of the richest, most intense Chardonnays around. It knows how to stand on its own, with aromas and flavors of ripe apple, tropical fruit and vanilla. But it plays well with others, too—especially bacon-wrapped scallops or grilled fish. Kick back, raise your glass and let this wine remind you just how Goode life can get.

Winemaker's Notes

The Island Block grapes originate from our vineyards in Alexander Valley that wind alongside the Russian River. The natural cooling effect of the Russian River and prominent fog layers promote a long growing season that intensifies the flavors of our grapes. Upon harvesting we ferment our Chardonnay in French oak barrels at levels that promote complexity, but ensure integrity. Look for flavors and aromas of ripe Fuji apples, tropical fruits and notes of peach at the finish. The oak is balanced with a vanilla toast that frames the rich mid-palette and tips its hand t o a long, sweet finish that longs for another sip.
