Frequently Asked Questions A Really Goode Job

WHAT’S THE CATCH?  IS THIS REAL?

No catch, just a Goode opportunity.  So, yes, this is REAL! We believe that creating a job opportunity that requires passion and a good attitude, not just a specialized aptitude, no experience required, allows us to bring more diverse people into our great industry.

WHAT IS “A REALLY GOODE JOB”?

A three-month-long search for one person to live out the ultimate dream job in wine country!

WHY IS MURPHY GOODE LAUNCHING THIS CAMPAIGN NOW?

We love bringing the good(e) into people’s lives. It’s been a rough couple of years and we wanted to create a real job opportunity that could help someone launch their career or pivot in the wine industry! We received an overwhelming response to our 2021 campaign and came across a large group of people who would make excellent employees.

WHAT WILL MY REGULAR WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IF I ACCEPT THIS JOB WITH MURPHY-GOODE?

Every day could be different, depending on your interests and focus.  We will work with you to identify your passion to create your ideal role at the winery.  You will be an employee, just like our other members of our team, working 40 hours per week.

You’ll spend about two months with our winemaking and viticulture teams during harvest

You’ll then transition to spending several weeks in different roles within the company so you gain a comprehensive understanding on how each department operates.

WHAT DOES THE FINAL CANDIDATE RECEIVE?

A job! And so much more…

$10,000 per monthly salary

Rent-free, vineyard-front living in the town of Healdsburg, California

Comprehensive job training in several roles from winemaking to sales, to marketing, viticulture and finance – every role that goes into running a wine business

The icing on the cake? A year’s supply of Murphy-Goode wine.

WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE?

If you have a lot of passion about wine and don’t know how you might fit in? No worries, pitch us your skills and we’ll help guide that passion into a great job that we hope you’ll want to have for the whole of your career.

Bottom Line:  Someone who wants to join the Goode life, has a passion for wine and is ready to dive headfirst into our world with us!  You don’t need wine experience or to have passed the Master Sommelier exam.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS LIKE?

The final candidate will be selected by a team of judges who will review ALL submissions.  We will announce semi-finalists in August 2022.  These semi-finalists will have in-person interviews in Healdsburg, California.

WHEN DOES THE JOB BEGIN?

September 2022 – right when we start harvesting those delicious grapes. That gives you an opportunity to see the whole process of winemaking – grape to glass.

HOW DO I APPLY?

We are accepting applicants from April 2 – June 30, 2022.  To apply, candidates must create a short video explaining their ideal role in the wine industry and what they would bring to Murphy-Goode, then upload it to the official campaign website at www.MurphyGoodeWinery.com.

ONCE I LAND THE JOB, WHAT DOES MY PERSONAL LIFE LOOK LIKE?

We cover the rent, the job, and wine, but we won’t manage your life.  Since this a real job, it’s open to singles, people with families, pets, etc.  So, once you are here, we hope you and your loved ones leave the house and explore Sonoma County because it is a pretty awesome place to live.
