Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the catch?  Is this real?

No catch, just a Goode opportunity.  So, yes, this is REAL!

What is “A Really Goode Job”?

A four-month-long search for one person to live out their ultimate dream job in wine country!

Why is Murphy Goode launching this campaign now?

It’s been a rough year and we wanted to create a real job opportunity that could help someone launch their career or pivot in the wine industry!   We actually launched a similar campaign back in 2009 during the economic downturn.

What will my regular workday look like if I accept this job with Murphy-Goode?

Every day could be different, depending on your interests and focus.  We will work with you to identify your passion to create your ideal role at the winery.  You will be an employee, just like our other members of our team, working 40 hours per week.

What does the FINAL CANDIDATE receive?

A job! And so much more…

  • $10,000 per monthly salary
  • Rent-free living in the town of Healdsburg, California
  • The icing on the cake? A year’s supply of Murphy-Goode Wine.

 Who is the ideal candidate?

Bottom Line:  Someone who wants to join the Goode life, has a passion for wine and is ready to dive headfirst into our world with us!  You don’t need wine experience or to have passed the Master Sommelier exam.

What is the selection process like?

The final candidate will be selected by a team of judges who will review ALL submissions.  We will announce semi-finalists in July 2021.  These semi-finalists will have in-person interviews in Healdsburg, California.

When does the job begin?

September 2021 – right when we start bringing those delicious grapes. That gives you an opportunity to see the whole process of winemaking – grape to glass.

How do I apply?

We are accepting applicants from March 1 – June 30, 2021.  To apply, candidates must create a short video explaining their ideal role in the wine industry and what they would bring to Murphy-Goode, then upload it to the official campaign website at

Once I land the job, what does my personal life look like?

We cover the rent, the job, and wine, but we won’t manage your life.  Since this a real job, it’s open to singles, people with families, pets, etc.  So, once you are here, we hope you and your loved ones leave the house and explore Sonoma County because it is a pretty awesome place to live.

Who can apply?

Job applicants must be 21 years of age or older, a legal resident of the 50 United States and D.C., and/or authorized to work in the U.S.
